U15s welcome Bedford tourists

Tottonians Under 15s welcomed a touring team from Bedford last weekend and, despite the weather, enjoyed a terrific game where the result didn’t matter but the fun did!

The game, played over three periods of 20 minutes each saw both sides play full strength outfits and the visitors held a two try lead as they proved a well drilled team.

The second period, both sides decided to switch positions with the forwards playing in the backs and the backs in the forwards!  The scrums were uncontested (for safety of course!).  Such was the fun that the teams lost track of the score but the smiles and laughs made it all worthwhile – as did the very questionable kicking by the stand-in backs!

The third 20 minutes saw the sides mix – with Bedford pack played with the Totts forwards and vice versa.  Again, no scoreline was tracked but the game was played in fantastically high spirits, no lack of skill and, most importantly, a huge amount of laughing and enjoyment – what rugby is all about!

It rained on and off throughout the day but it didn’t dampen any spirits!

Thank you Bedford for coming to Tottonians – all had a brilliant time!
