TOTTS ABROAD – Part 1

A new feature on the Tottonians website where we look for supporters from around the world – but also, Tottonians supporters visiting places and flashing the stash!

Part one of the series is Rebecca Stenson – Becky!

Becky is a lifelong friend of Rhys Bowen, who she has known since she was six years old and classes him as her best friend.  She moved to New Zealand in 2019 to be with her partner but was recently sent some of the new Tottonians kit by Rhys to her home in beautiful Queenstown on the South Island.

Thank you Mr Bowen, for sending me your new merchandise all the way to New Zealand! Got to support my local team, even if I am thousands of miles away!!

I caught up with Becky via message and she remembers fondly the time that she spent at Water Lane, watching Tottonians and supporting the teams – all thanks to Rhys (or Mr. Bowen as she always calls him!).

“I always think of Mr. Bowen, my best friend, I’ve known him since I was little.  And it always brings back memories of when we used to go to the club at weekends and watch him play, always cheering from the side and I met so many amazing people.

“I must have been going to the club for five years as I lived locally in Cadnam so me and Mr. Bowen used to just get in a car together and drive to the rugby club and we would always have a few beers after and then, on the way home, we would listen to “Star Girl” by McFly.

“It was a great weekend going to the rugby club, not just watching them play but the atmosphere too, everyone was so friendly.”

Here is Becky in her new Tottonians kit taking the dog for a walk on a bright Saturday morning in Queenstown and she wanted to wish everyone well.  “Look forward to seeing everyone again soon, can’t wait to come back to visit and catch up!”
